Welcome to the updated version of the CBEN awards.
We have updated these awards to make it more relevant to Cumbrian Businesses and more accessible to businesses of all sizes.
Our environmental awards have been running for 11 years and are recognised across Cumbria. Whether you are looking to demonstrate environmental responsibility or looking to work with other sustainable businesses the CBEN environmental awards could be beneficial to you.
The Awards have been split into two categories
Green at Heart
The Green at Heart scheme is a new addition to the CBEN awards and has been developed as an option for businesses seeking certification in recognition of their environmental awareness and practices.
Through participating in the scheme businesses will receive recognition for steps they have already taken towards becoming a Greener businesses as well as gaining access to valuable guidance and ideas for how they can improve further.

Environmental Management System
In previous years the CBEN environmental award has been about sucessful implementation and continual improvement of an Environmental Management System (EMS). Building on 11 years of experience this new certificate allows businesses to adopt a robust and tested EMS.
There are many advantages for a business to achieve EMS certification. Whether they are tendering for contracts that require evidence of an EMS or just looking to reduce the business's environmental impacts.
In pursuing the CBEN Environmental Management System you will recieve all the support you need in planning and implementing a robust EMS within your business.
