Award Holders

Below is a list of our current award holders. Awards were presented at our Awards ceremony at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal on the 23rd March 2011 where Cumbria’s best environmentally-savvy businesses were honoured. The awards rewarded over 100 businesses that have worked hard to help the environment.

The winners were announced in three categories - Gold, Silver, and Bronze-recognising commitment to lowering their businesses’ environmental impact through changing their working practices. Also at the ceremony the Excellence Awards were announced and were awarded to 3 businesses that went over and above the criteria required, by Jeremy Westgarth from the Environment Agency, Penrith.

Excellence Award winners were:
Gold –     Pure Lakes Skincare, Staveley near Kendal
Silver –    Wildly Rural, Kirksanton near Millom
Bronze – Hunter Hall School, Penrith

The speakers for the evening were Tim Foster, Head of the Blencathra Centre, one of the Field Studies Council’s leading providers of outdoor education in the UK and Dr. Nigel Mellors, Associated Dean of Enterprise & Engagement within the Science and Technology College at the University of Salford.
