Cumbria Business Environment Network Awards

                                                             

The CBEN Awards scheme in Cumbria provides a staged approach,  Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, to implementing an Environmental Management System. The scheme is based on ISO14001 and will help you to manage your environmental performance and show to your customers that you take the seriously.

For any business the idea of environmental management and practices can sound complex and costly. The awards scheme aims to ease the process, providing practical advice and working with businesses to help engage in good environmental practices.
Many supply chain tenders now require applicants to demonstrate performance and commitment. CBEN is recognised by many supply chains in Cumbria

.Organisations can apply for one of three levels of award: -

Bronze Award
For organisations demonstrating their initial awareness and commitment to environmentally management and improvement.

Silver Award
For organisations who have completed the requirements for the Bronze Award and are progressing along the path of assessing and controlling their environmental aspects/impacts, within a developing environmental management system

Gold Award

For organisations that have attained a level of excellence in the identification, assessment and control of their environmental aspects/impacts, put in appropriate procedures to through a fully implemented EMS.

Since 2006 CBEN have identified the following savings in Cumbrian businesses that we have worked with:

44,774 tonnes of CO2 savings 
58,542 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill
106,595 tonnes of materials saved 
689,666 m³ of water saved
