Members of the CBEN awards scheme will receive support to achieve their award levels through a mixture of on-site support, access to workshops and email/telephone contact with a named advisor. A certificate will be issued annually at our awards ceremony in March to businesses that successfully achieve their Awards criteria.   In addition we have four Excellence awards which are given to businesses that go over and above the criteria required – truly embracing new measures out of concern for the environment, and showing real dedication to resource efficiency.

We encourage all businesses to attend our workshops programme. The workshops are free, and there is no restriction on either the number of people or the number of workshops that may be attended.  Site visits, audit and award accreditation will only take place after payment of membership has been received.    Click here for our workshop schedule.

The Bronze Workshop covers:
An introduction to some of the major environmental issues
• An introduction to the concepts behind environmental legislation
• Understanding how your business interacts and impacts on the environment
• Writing your Environmental Policy.

There are 2 Silver Workshops:
Silver 1 looks at the development of an aspects and impacts register and how we assess our environmental interaction. It will also explore environmental risk and how to develop an environmental legislation register for your business.
Silver 2 will explore the setting of objectives and targets and how you can translate ideas into action through Environmental Management Programmes 2010

The Gold Workshop will help you to pull together all that you have learned into an appropriate sized Environmental Management System.
It will explore performance monitoring and measurement, self audits, non conformance procedures and management procedures. It is an opportunity for businesses moving to Gold to put all the final structures in place to make their Environmental Management System work for itself and make real progress in environmental performance

Retained Gold Workshop
Maintaining your Gold Award does take commitment. This is an idea sharing workshop and a chance to keep up to date with changes in environmental regulations, new technologies and also to explore ways to maximize the potential of your Environmental Management System to give your business real advantage. It is not a requirement for a business to retain this award but we believe it will help you to ensure that your Environmental Management System is kept up to date and pays you back for the time you put into it
